The Peace Region's Annual 48-Hour Film Challenge
April 27 - 29, 2018
Over the course of an adrenaline-filled weekend filmmaking teams compete to write, shoot, and edit a short film based on a randomly selected genre, and a provided line of dialogue and prop. The best films will be screened as part of the Reel Shorts Film Festival in Grande Prairie, Alberta Sunday May 13th.
Teams of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to participate. All short films must be produced in the Peace Region to qualify for entry. Early-bird Registration is closes April 7th at midnight.

Only one fee is required per team, and there are no team size limits. PRIMAA membership is not required. However, if your team has a PRIMAA member as the team captain, your team will qualify for reduced registration fee.
PRIMAA membership is $50 and includes several member benefits.

The awards will be structured the same as previous years:
- Audience Choice (Overall)
- Judge’s Choice (Adult)
- Judge’s Choice (Youth)
- Honourable Mentions / Runner-Ups
Any associated prize amounts and gifts are TBD for 2018.
The Start - Friday, April 27, 2018 at 6pm
Registered teams can pick up their starter packages in Grande Prairie. Out of town teams can request digital delivery of their info packages.
Each team will be given their starter package containing a preselected random genre. All teams will have to include a specific prop and line of dialogue in their film. The genres will be different for each team, while the prop and dialogue line will be the same for all teams. Each of these must be included in your final short film project to qualify.
The End - Sunday, April 29th, 2018 at 6pm
Completed 2-6 minute projects are to be turned in by 6pm Sunday to compete for prizes. Late entries will be accepted until 9pm Sunday, however late entries will be exempt from award contention. Entries after 9pm Sunday will not be accepted.
